Yes , you heard it right the Dan are coming to Glasgow for a rare gig in February 2019 . And the good news is – I’ve got a ticket !
Donald Fagen will lead the band and they’ll perform at arenas across the country with legendary British artist Steve Winwood as a special guest.
The first and only time I saw Steely Dan live was in 2001 in Glasgow at the Armadillo . I was able to photograph the gig and I stayed for the rest of the gig once my three songs were up . I have photographed a lot of rock bands down the years. My rock photography portfolio features a number of the bands .
Steely Dan tour a lot in America , but their appearances in the UK and Europe are pretty rare.
Steely Dan have sold over 40 million albums worldwide. Their debut album Can’t Buy a Thrill, 1974’s Pretzel Logic and 1977’s Aja were named on Rolling Stone’s 500 Greatest Albums of All Time list. Although band members have changed throughout the years, Fagen has been assembling a top group of musicians to support him on recent tours.
